Married Gary, my high school sweetheart, 1965. He served in the USAF, including a tour in Vietnam. (68) We settled in Natchez, he w/Woolco, and I w/Ma Bell. In 74, we moved to Columbus. I transferred w/Ma Bell, and he was on opening team w/K-Mart.
Columbus Ma Bell closed in 68, so I commuted to Tupelo, until that ofc closed. I retired from CAFB switchboard Oct. 01, 2009. Butch has been medically retired since 1998.
Eugene Walters, also in our class, is my brother-in-law. |

School Story: |
|
We had a pretty red-haired English teacher, Miss Garrett. As we listened to a recording of The Gettysburg Address, Ben Hand said, "Miss Garrett, I didn't know they had tape recorders back then."
My favorite memory is the "Snake-Dance," before the Greenville-Greenwood game. It began at the court house, ending at the levee w/bonfire. Later, some of us enjoyed a 5 cent vanilla coke at the Marion Parlor.
I also loved the Christmas Parades. |

Pops and Granny

Mischievious Colby

Morgan-Lydia and Colby, the flower children.

The future Miss South Carolina, Miss Morgan-Lydia

My oldest Grandchild, Tyler. He made the birdhouse.

Tyler helped his mother, Laura, w/the flowers. Laura has a green thumb. The flowers are just beautiful.

Our wonderful oldest grandchild, Tyler.
