Forty five years after graduating from GHS, one thing is sure and certain, God has continued to bless me and my family. We are truly grateful for His watch and care over us.
Our greatest accomplishments in the past 41 years of marriage are our children and grandchildren. Lesley, our first daughter, was born in 1970, while we were stationed in upper Michigan. Lesley continues to bless us and others with her incredible gift of nursing skills in the neuro unit at Baptist East - Memphis. Our second daughter, Lydia, born in 1977 in Memphis, graduated from ASU in Jonesboro, AR., with a degree in Business Administration. She and her family blessed us several years ago by relocating in the Southaven community. Lydia has a wonderful job with LRK - an architectural firm in downtown Memphis. Needless to say, our grandchildren, Laurel - 6 1/2, Mitchell - 6, and Maddie 15 mo., fill our lives with unspeakable joy. A friend once told me that grandchildren are the rewards we receive from putting up with our own children during those difficult teenage years. If that is the case then I definately deserve at least six more grandchildren.
Guy and I are currently enjoying his retirement from Kroger after 43 years of service. I have decided to continue with my part time greeting card job to help fund my e-bay addiction. We both enjoy traveling , taking long walks in the woods near our home and spending quality time with our three dachshunds, Sunshine, Cricket and Beau.
Its been said "We do not stop playing because we grow old....we grow old because we stop playing...". My hope for each is that we will continue to live, love, laugh, "play" and enjoy the life that God has so graciously given to each of us. |
